  3.      README.TXT: LETTERHEAD.PRO FOR WORDPERFECT (DOS) - BBS INSTALLATION

  6.  THE BBS INSTALLATION IS AN "ANYWHERE TO ANYWHERE" INSTALL PROGRAM. AFTER THE
  7.  BBS FILE IS UNZIPPED, YOU MAY INSTALL THE PROGRAM FROM ANY DRIVE OR DIRECTORY
  8.  ON YOUR COMPUTER TO THE APPROPRIATE WORDPERFECT DIRECTORY.  
  9.  
  10.  Thank you for your interest in Letterhead Pro. This program requires only that
  11.  you have WordPerfect (DOS) installed. Letterhead Pro will set up 16 sample
  12.  graphic letterheads, 6 logos, and 1 watermark into WordPerfect. Each 
  13.  letterhead will also have a macro that installs the letterhead into any 
  14.  WordPerfect document. The INSTALL program may be started from the DOS prompt 
  15.  by typing INSTALL in the directory or drive where you have UNZIPPED or copied
  16.  the files. After the installation is completed, WordPerfect will automatically 
  17.  be called up with a document entitled README.DOC on screen. (It does not con-
  18.  tain the same information as this file.) README.DOC contains instructions on
  19.  how to use the installed macros, as well as instructions for designing and
  20.  ordering your own customized letterhead, logo, and watermark.
  21.  
  22.  README.DOC is a WordPerfect document and must be printed from inside
  23.  WordPerfect. You may use README.DOC to guide you through the display and 
  24.  printing of the letterheads. The document was set up using COURIER 10cpi so
  25.  that it would print the order form and other items correctly on almost any 
  26.  printer. You will be shown how you may obtain your own customized graphic 
  27.  letterheads. All instructions, worksheets, and order forms are included.
  28.  
  29.  You may design your own letterhead, convert your present printed letterhead,
  30.  or have CPI Software design a letterhead for you. CPI Software will place
  31.  this design into a graphic PCX format, add a macro, and return it to you.
  32.  
  33.  If the printer you are currently using will print WordPerfect graphics, it
  34.  will print graphical PCX letterheads. This includes lasers, ink jets, and
  35.  dot-matrix printers. You do NOT need special printer drivers or any other 
  36.  add-ons to place a customized professionally created letterhead on your
  37.  WordPerfect documents. WordPerfect and Letterhead Pro are all you need.
  38.  
  39.  Before starting the installation, refresh yourself on whether you used the
  40.  Basic or Custom installation when installing WordPerfect. If you do not 
  41.  remember, then locate the path to the macro files, graphic files, and 
  42.  WordPerfect document files. Use the Custom installation for Letterhead Pro
  43.  and type in the path data when prompted.

  46.                                  INSTALLATION
  47.  
  48.  Letterhead Pro may be installed in one of three ways. It may also be removed
  49.  from your hard disk (uninstalled) using the CLEANUP command below.
  50.  
  51.  1. Basic Installation:
  52.  
  53.  This installation corresponds to the WordPerfect Basic installation, where
  54.  all the documents, macros, and graphics are in the \WP51 directory. If you
  55.  did not make any changes in the directory locations since installing 
  56.  WordPerfect with the Basic installation, then this is the method of choice.
  57.  
  58.  Type INSTALL (and strike the ENTER key) in the directory or drive where you
  59.  have unzipped or copied the program files. Follow the on-screen directions.
  60.  
  61.  2. Custom Installation:
  62.  
  63.  This installation will let you place the document files, the macros, and the
  64.  graphics into any directory you wish. You must know the path to each of these
  65.  directories. For example, if you placed all documents into a directory named
  66.  "DOC" off the main "WP51" directory on drive "C", then this would be the full
  67.  path:
  68.  
  69.                                C:\WP51\DOC

  71.  You will be asked: a. the drive letter, b. the path for document files, c. the
  72.  path for macro files (files ending with .WPM), and c. the path for graphic
  73.  files (files ending with .WPG). If you are not sure how you had installed
  74.  WordPerfect, then use this method. Locate these files before the installation,
  75.  and write down their proper path. Even if you used the Basic WordPerfect
  76.  installation, this method would work, if you know where the files are located.

  78.  You may start the installation by typing INSTALL (and strike ENTER key) in the
  79.  drive or directory where you have unzipped or copied the program files. Follow
  80.  the on-screen directions.

  82.  3. Manual Installation:
  83.  
  84.  This method does not use the Letterhead Pro INSTALL program, but it must be
  85.  done exactly as follows: 
  86.  
  87.  a. Locate where the WordPerfect document files, macro files, and  graphic
  88.     files are on your hard disk. 
  89.     
  90.  b. From the location where you have unzipped or copied the program files,
  91.     copy these files into the proper directory:
  92.  
  93.            1. PRO.EXE and ZAP.EXE into the documents directory.
  94.            2. MACROS.EXE and ZAP.EXE into the macros directory. 
  95.            3. GRAPHICS.EXE and ZAP.EXE into the graphics directory.
  96.  
  97.  c. PRO.EXE, MACROS.EXE, GRAPHICS.EXE, and ZAP.EXE are self-extracting 
  98.     files. You need only to type their names and strike the ENTER key, and
  99.     the Letterhead Pro file(s) will be extracted from them.

  101.  d. ZAP.EXE should be in every directory where any Letterhead Pro files are
  102.     located. This contains the file CLEANUP.EXE that is used to remove all
  103.     Letterhead Pro files from the directory (see below) at a later time.
  104.  
  105.  e. After extracting all files, call up WordPerfect. When WordPerfect is on
  106.     screen, retrieve or open the README.DOC file. Print the README.DOC file
  107.     just as you would print any WordPerfect document. Use the README.DOC
  108.     instructions to guide you through the printing of the letterheads. Then 
  109.     use the Worksheet and Order Form to obtain your customized letterheads, 
  110.     logos, and watermark.

  113.                          UNINSTALLING LETTERHEAD PRO

  115.  The installation places the file CLEANUP.EXE into every directory where 
  116.  Letterhead Pro files have been placed. When you wish to remove all installed
  117.  Letterhead Pro files, simply go into the directories where you have installed
  118.  files and type:
  119.  
  120.                        CLEANUP   and strike the ENTER key
  121.  
  122.  You will be asked if you want to uninstall all Letterhead Pro files in that
  123.  directory. Press the ENTER key and all installed files will be removed,
  124.  including CLEANUP.EXE.
